Is the Lidl test hard? ›

All you need is a quick recap of basic GCSE calculations, such as ratios, percentages and reading data off charts. Lidl's numerical reasoning test is difficult – not because of the knowledge tested, but because of the time pressure and stress involved. You need learn to manage your stress and time pressure.

Lidl numerical reasoning test

Lidl uses Cut-e (AON) for its aptitude tests. The Cut-e numerical reasoning test is designed to see how candidates can apply mathematical knowledge to answer questions. The maths skills required are basic – GCSE-level or equivalent – but the analysis of the data is the important part.

Before you can join, you'll need to attend one/two interviews. We'll ask you about your skills and experience, and assess how well they match the job you're applying for. We may also ask you some situational questions to see how you would handle certain situations you'd experience on the job.

Lidl Assessment Centre: Numerical Test

You will have 20 minutes to complete the test and won't have a calculator to help you.

You should hear from us within 28 days of your initial application to find out if you have been shortlisted for a first stage interview. Often you will hear much sooner than 28 days, but during particularly busy periods it can take a while. We will contact you by email throughout the recruitment process.

Typically, a skills test asks a variety of questions in different formats to see how candidates perform on-the-job tasks. A good skills test includes questions that are capable of being answered by someone already doing the job and can accurately measure key performance metrics.

Once you open the myLidl app, you can shake your phone to prompt the QR code (which is what needs to be scanned) or you can tap "checkout" in the bottom right corner of the app.

Following your final interview, you will be contacted either by phone or email with the outcome.

How do you pass an interview with no experience? ›

For retail positions, Lidl does not require any pre-employment drug testing. They also do not require drug testing for promotions or to move up into management positions.

Can I still work for Lidl? As our stores sell alcohol, we are unable to have individuals under 18 operating our tills. We employ individuals over 16 in our warehouses.

Is working at Lidl stressful? ›

Managers are cool, everyone helps each other on the floor but high pick rate is heavily stressed and creates pressure to perform especially as a beginner. This matched with shortage in staff and high volume can make most weeks exhausting. As long as you work hard like you've got nothing else then you're good.

What Are Basic Skills Tests? Basic skills tests are a cumulative name for tests intended to assess basic math and verbal skills (sometimes additional skills will also be tested, such as mechanical or clerical aptitude, depending on the position).

Lidl has raised entry level hourly pay for store workers outside the M25, from £10.90 to £11, effective from this month. It's the third rise for Lidl store workers in 18 months, and makes Lidl the joint top-paying supermarket nationally alongside Aldi and Sainsbury's, who also pay £11 an hour.

The majority of your first day in store will be spent undertaking training. During the shift you will be welcomed into the store and will meet some of your colleagues including your Training Mentor. CCTV recording is active at all Lidl sites which includes our stores, distribution centres, local and property offices and our Head Office. Some of our cameras may also use non-scan detection technologies as part of the checkout process.

Lidl's U.S. stores don't require shoppers to deposit a quarter to use a shopping cart. Of course, that's not the case at Aldi, which does make you deposit a quarter to rent a shopping cart.

Do you get hired immediately after interview? ›

In my experience, it takes two to four weeks on average to hear back after your final interview, but there's no standard time. According to a 2019 survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the average time from interview to job offer is 23.5 days for recent college graduates.

After a round of interviews, hiring managers will spend an ample amount of time reviewing applicants and their qualifications before taking next steps. But while any and all of the above can (and sometimes does) impact how long it takes for you to get a response after a job interview, Work says, “In most cases, you should hear back within one to two weeks max after a job interview, unless the recruiter or team lets you know it will take longer.”

The first thing you should do when answering “why should we hire you?” is to highlight any skills and professional experience that are relevant to the position you're applying for. To make your answer all the more valid, make sure to always back up everything you say with examples, experiences, and achievements.

Ask them to clarify information about the question

If you're unsure how to answer an interview question, it may be because the hiring manager doesn't provide enough context or isn't clear about the answer they're seeking. If this happens, consider asking questions for clarification.

How do I introduce myself in an interview? ›

"Good day, I am [Name], and I am delighted to be here today. I appreciate the opportunity to discuss my qualifications for the [Position/Job Title] role." "Having [Number] years of experience in [Field], I was able to develop a strong skill set that comes in line with the requirements of this position.

Answer “what is your greatest weakness” by choosing a skill that is not essential to the job you're applying to and by stressing exactly how you're practically addressing your weakness. Some skills that you can use as weaknesses include impatience, multitasking, self-criticism, and procrastination.

State your range and provide a rationale for why you've landed on that range, sharing some of the research you've done and noting the skills and experience that make you a strong fit for the position. Acknowledge that salary is just one of the factors that will play into your decision to accept the job or not.

Dependence on private-label products: Lidl's reliance on private-label products could make it more vulnerable to supplier cost fluctuations or supply chain disruptions. Additionally, the company may face challenges in responding to customer preferences for branded products in certain categories.

Aldi Numerical Reasoning Test

You will have around 45 seconds to answer each question so you need to be confident performing quick calculations. There is no other way to achieve this other than practicing many numerical reasoning test questions, and improving your tactics and time control.

Is the SHL test difficult? SHL tests are often considered to be difficult, but this is intentional. Your goal is to achieve a high score when compared to others taking the test. If you find the SHL test questions difficult, other people in your norm group are probably finding them difficult too.

Results from an SHL test are given as a percentile score. An average score is between 40 and 50. Although this is considered a pass, it might not be high enough for the employer that you are applying to. A result between 73 and 90 is generally considered to be a good score.
